Youth Yoga Group

“Do not feel lonely. The entire universe is inside of you.” –Rumi

Yes, I'm an adult now, but I remember very clearly what it's like to be a teenager. It has potential to be a perfect Instagram feed of fun, laughter, and connection. But thats not what its like all the time. Sometimes, it feels like its opposite of all that Insta perfection. And it's so hard you can often feel lost, overwhelmed, lonely, and very unsure of who you are.

In the Youth Yoga group, my intention is to bring movement and calm through breath and yoga practice, as well as teaching empirically sound mindfulness and emotional regulation coping skills, together helping you so you can live your best life, whatever that looks like for you.

About Yoga:

Yoga can sometimes be seen as a practice to simply strengthen the body, get a good sweat, or a competition to have the most flexible hamstrings in the class. Yoga can be these things, but so much more. Yoga not only benefits the body, but has outstanding effects on the mind, the body's nervous system, and spiritual wellbeing. I have had many years using movement and yoga to supplement my own healing journey, and I have found it so healing that I have recently become a Registered Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance to supplement my clinical training. I figured it was time I use this experiential learning modality in my group to help my clients EXPERIENCE peace, and calm, not just talk about it.

About Mindfulness Skills:

I have had training in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, as well as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, both which are empirically proven to help bring emotional balance in an individual's life and wellbeing. In the second half of group, you can expect to sit back on your Yoga props, pull out your binder, and get ready to learn as well as practice some serious Calm skills that will help your mind and nervous system settle, both on and off your Yoga mat.

Put the two together:

See you on your mat weekly, for a 2 hour, fantastic, downward dogging, mind-calming, connecting group experience.

Important Facts:

Cost: 50$ per session, for 12 weeks, and must be able to commit to 12 weeks so there can be rapport in group dynamic. You can pay weekly or upfront. I also provide a workbook/binder with the skill teachings in it, and if you would like to purchase, there is a 10$ one time fee.

When: Starting August*, I will be holding the class weeknights.

Where: Location to be determined

What to Bring: You, water, an open mind, and your yoga mat if you have one! If you don't, I have extra:) Try not to eat a heavy meal before hand (yoga+food baby don't mix well), and feel free to bring a snack for the second half of session if you would like.

Other: You don't have to have any experience in Yoga, or in any sort of mindfulness training. I am trained how to help beginners as well as experienced Yogis. Props will be provided.
