Earth Based Therapy, garden therapy, or ecopsychology theory has been used for thousands of years to help the human race with hundreds of health related issues. In this technological, always-plugged-in-world, why not use the Earth to gain true grounding, stability, and processing in emotional and psychological health?
Horticultural therapy can be described as “A formal practice that uses plants, horticultural activities, and the garden landscape to promote well-being for its participants”-chta.ca
This therapy is now being used to help many people with emotional issues through out the world. Horticultural Therapy studies have shown that with people in hospitals, detention centers, and schools have improved in overall emotional, relational, and physical health states. I have a deep passion and belief in the Earth and gardening to deeply heal our wounding. Nature is a perfect example of complete wisdom in areas of harmonious living, the cycles of life, patience, deep healing, and grounding.
I have had many years working with plants, and I have recently graduated as an Arizona Master Gardener. With this knowledge, I use this modality in my practice to help my clients experiencing trauma and stress find peace, learn how to deal with the cycles of life, and gain a deep sense of purpose.
