Dialectical Behavorial Therapy+ Yoga=Experiential Amazingness

I got trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) when I was 20 years old. Ten years and lots of different trainings later, I still incorporate DBT in almost every session, and now Im starting my own Yoga and DBT Group! Yes, Im excited. 

DBT is a therapy modality created by Marsha Linehan in 1993. This was originally designed for persons with Borderline Personality Disorder, but it has since spread to a wide range of people with a wide range of emotional issues. I teach heavy mindfulness in DBT, and basically, in this fast paced world, we can all use some more mindfulness skills in our back pocket. DBT is proven to help with issues such as depression, anxiety, impulsivity, and issues in interpersonal relationships.

DBT is made up of four modules: Mindfulness, Distress Tolerance, Emotional Regulation, and Interpersonal Effectiveness. I use all these things to help my clients learn skills to help them cope with life's shenanigans. If you use it, it works.

Now that I am teaching Yoga, and I learn by doing and practicing, I thought why not combine the two? So, here are the deets for the group:

Cost: 50$ per session, for 12 weeks, and must be able to commit to 12 weeks so there can be rapport in group dynamic. You can pay weekly or upfront. I also provide a workbook/binder with the DBT teachings in it, and if you would like to purchase, its 10$ one time fee.

When: Starting February 6th-May 8th*, I will be holding the class from 6-8 pm. From 6-7 is yoga, from 7-8 is DBT lessons and discussion. (Skipping Wednesday, April 3rd).

What to Bring: You, water, an open mind, and your yoga mat if you have one! If you don't, I got extra:) Try not to eat before hand (yoga+food baby don't mix well), and feel free to bring a snack for the second half of session if you would like:)

Other: You don't have to have any experience in Yoga, or in DBT. I am trained how to help beginners as well as experienced Yogis. Props will be provided.
