If you have experienced an extended period of anxiety or depression, you’ll know what I mean when I say IT’S HELL. A person can feel like they don’t have control of their thoughts, their emotions, and actions. Emotions can feel like they control everything and life can get real dark and wack.
I get you! For me, mindfulness was one of the only ways that has consistently brought me into my body and got me grounded (aka what is really happening in the present moment). So, I like to help others find their own peace in scientific based ways. I incorporate mindfulness based skills into my healing practice, with modalities such as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), a little bit of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), some Earth healing techniques when it’s appropriate, as well as Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction techniques. We can be friends with our thoughts and emotions–or at least learn how to handle them.
